
Communication Minister and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Discuss Bilateral Relations
Information and Communication Minister Dr. Bikram Timilsina held discussions with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Sarah B. Rogers at the ministry, focusing on bilateral relations and information technology. During the meeting, topics such as bilateral relations, information technology, telecommunications, digital security, and investment expansion were discussed. Deputy Secretary Rogers highlighted the friendly and cooperative nature of Nepal-U.S. relations and conveyed America’s eagerness to enhance collaboration in information technology and telecommunications sectors. She noted that American companies are keen on increasing investments in Nepal, thus expecting an investment-friendly environment, policy stability, and necessary facilitation.
Minister Dr. Timilsina remarked that Nepal is advancing toward economic and administrative transformation through information technology and welcomed all forms of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in this sector. He stated that the government prioritizes attracting direct foreign investment and provided information regarding the current policy and legal frameworks for investments in the telecommunications sector.
