May 19, Kathmandu – The government released the decisions from the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sashmit Pokharel publicly shared the four key resolutions from the Tuesday meeting.
According to Pokharel, who also holds the post of Minister of Education and Sports, the government appointed Anjani Kumar Pokharel as Additional Inspector General of the Armed Police Force based on the proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The cabinet meeting decisions are as follows–
– Approval of an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) regarding the management and reduction of substances that harm the ozone layer, in line with the implementation of the Montreal Protocol.
– Promotion of Armed Police Deputy Inspector Anjani Kumar Pokharel to the position of Additional Inspector General in the Armed Police Force Nepal.
– Extension of the tenure by 45 days for the study committee formed to examine and recommend on security mechanisms related to the incidents during the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082 BS, as noted in the commission’s investigation report.
– Appointment of Balbhadra Baskota as Chairperson of the Land Problem Resolution Committee, with Amir Prasad Nyaupane of Kathmandu, Padmaniti Sotil of Lamjung, and Dr. Rohana Shrestha of Kathmandu as members.
