Eight Killed in Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza
At least eight people have died and 15 others have been injured in recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. Since the ceasefire was implemented, the Gaza Health Ministry reports that at least 936 people have lost their lives due to Israeli attacks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his military to take control of 70 percent of the Gaza territory.
AFP quoted a spokesperson from the Palestinian Civil Security Agency reporting that eight people were killed in the Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. The spokesperson, Mahmoud Bass, stated that seven fatalities occurred in residential buildings targeted by Israeli air raids, and one person died in an attack on the Al-Sati refugee camp west of Gaza City. Additionally, 15 people were injured in an attack on the Al-Sifa hospital in Gaza City, he added.
Although the ceasefire has been in place since last October, continuous Israeli attacks have escalated violent activities in the Gaza Strip. There are ongoing accusations that both Hamas and Israeli forces have violated the terms of the ceasefire, with Israeli military control alleged to have breached several provisions. Recently, both sides have accused each other of ceasefire violations amid rising tensions.
