Under-16 Cricket Final Between Nepal Police School and DAV School Scheduled

An Under-16 interschool cricket final will take place on Tuesday between Nepal Police School and DAV School for the championship title. In the semifinals held on Monday, DAV School defeated James School by 44 runs, while Nepal Police School triumphed over the Military Residential College by 8 runs. This tournament, organized by the Kathmandu District Cricket Association, offers a prize of NPR 150,000 to the winner and NPR 75,000 to the runner-up. Kathmandu, 25 Jestha.

The third edition of the Asian e-Learning ‘Jaykumar Nath Shah Memorial’ Under-16 Interschool Cricket Tournament sees Nepal Police School facing off against Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School (DAV) for the title. In the first semifinal at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Monday, DAV School secured their spot in the final by defeating James School by 44 runs. Winning the toss, DAV batted first and scored 130 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Prasiddha Jaishi made an impressive 49 runs off 28 balls, including 9 boundaries.

Biraj Jaiswal contributed 37 runs, Satyam Basnet added 16, and Mayank Shah scored 10. Swaraj Chaulagain from James took 3 wickets, while Pragav Pandey, Prachet Lakhotiya, and Anjan each claimed one wicket. Chasing 131, James managed only 86 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Despite a 27-run effort by Swaraj Chaulagain, the team fell short. Sudish Paudel scored 16 and Prachet Lakhotiya added 15 runs.

DAV’s Kunjun Acharya took 2 wickets; Prasiddha Jaishi, Kamal Shahi, and Keshav Agrawal each took one. Jaishi was awarded the ‘Pick Point Man of the Match’. In the second semifinal, Police School defeated Military Residential College by 8 runs to set their place in the final against DAV. After winning the toss, Police School posted 146 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Priyanshu Kishore Raut contributed 36 runs.

Mohammad Abbas Safi scored 32, Rakesh Kumar Sah remained unbeaten with 21, and Sunil Thakur added 20 runs. Sudish Paudel was the top bowler for the Military team, taking 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Abhash KC and Roshan Tiwari took 2 wickets apiece. The Military side, chasing 147, were all out for 138 runs in their allotted overs. Rajdeep Acharya top scored with 64 runs but could not secure the win. Priyanshu Kishore Raut, Sunil Thakur, Aryan Sah, Sujit Yadav, and Sagar Singh each took a wicket. Priyanshu was named ‘Pick Point Man of the Match’.

The final match between Police School and DAV will be held on Tuesday from 10 AM at the Mulpani Cricket Ground. The tournament began on Jestha 19 and features 24 teams, organized by the Kathmandu District Cricket Association.
