Iran Fully Closes Strategic Strait of Hormuz

Following reports of new U.S. air strikes on various locations in Iran, the country’s Supreme Military Command has announced a full closure of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian military declared that this ban applies to all marine vessels, including oil tankers and commercial ships. Iran has issued a stern warning, threatening to target and attack any ships attempting to pass through the strait.

On June 11th (28 Jestha), in Kathmandu, Iran took this decisive action after the United States initiated a fresh phase of aerial attacks within Iranian territory. According to Iranian forces, the prohibition on passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be enforced strictly against all types of watercraft. The move underscores Tehran’s readiness to respond aggressively to any vessels that try to navigate this critical maritime route.
