Sandesh Kutuwal Appointed CEO of Lumbini Lions

June 21, Kathmandu – Former Nepal Premier League (NPL) champion Lumbini Lions has appointed Sandesh Kutuwal as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Lumbini Lions chairman Ishwar G.C. formally welcomed Kutuwal on Sunday and handed over the CEO responsibilities. Bhawana Ghimire, who served as the CEO last season, has been assigned the role of Executive Director this time. Lumbini Lions clinched the title in the second edition of the NPL by defeating Sudur Paschim Royals in the final.

After his appointment, Kutuwal expressed gratitude towards Lumbini Lions and emphasized his focus on developing a professional and institutional culture within the team. He stated, “I want to thank Lumbini Lions for this opportunity. With my previous experience in the NPL, I am confident I can fulfill my role more effectively. My goal is to advance business management and sports management simultaneously and build a strong team culture within this corporate house.”

Kutuwal was the CEO of Kathmandu Gorkhas in the inaugural edition of the NPL. A former athlete himself, he brings over two decades of experience in corporate and business management. Previously, he has held positions such as Business Head at Kantipur Media Group, Senior Manager at Yamaha, and Head of Strategy at Apex College. He is also an investor in Velocity Arena, an indoor cricket and football infrastructure established under Nepal Sports Management. Under his leadership, various sporting events have been successfully organized across Kathmandu Valley and outer districts.
