Corruption Case Filed Against Employee Hiralal Kafle of Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality

June 25, Kathmandu – A corruption case has been registered at the Special Court in Kathmandu against Hiralal Kafle, an employee of Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality in Syangja. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed charges against Kafle for presenting a forged educational certificate to secure his appointment in the municipality.

According to the commission’s charge sheet, Kafle submitted a fake educational certificate claiming he had passed the equivalent of the SLC examination, the H.S.L.C, in 1998 from the Board of Secondary Education in Guwahati, Assam, India. This forgery was used to obtain appointment and subsequent promotion to the assistant level fifth grade in the municipality.
