French captain Kylian Mbappé has become the fastest player in FIFA World Cup history to reach 20 goals. He achieved this milestone in just 20 matches. At 27 years old, he has also set the record for the most goals scored in World Cup knockout stages, with a total of 12 goals.

On June 26, in Kathmandu, Mbappé, participating in the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup held in North America, has established several significant records alongside Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi. In the first quarterfinal match against Morocco, which France won 2-0, Mbappé scored one goal and provided one assist. While Messi has set important records such as the most World Cup appearances, most goals, and providing assists in six World Cups, Mbappé has also created remarkable records of his own.

Mbappé has become the all-time highest scorer in World Cup knockout phases with 12 goals, surpassing legends such as Brazil’s Leonidas and Cristiano Ronaldo. He reached 20 World Cup goals at the age of 27, whereas Messi achieved the same milestone only at 38 years old. By scoring 20 goals in just 20 matches, Mbappé claimed the title of the fastest player to reach 20 goals in World Cup history.
