South African 25-year-old midfielder Jayden Adams was found dead in his own home, prompting the police to initiate an investigation. Kathmandu, June 30 – Authorities have begun probing the circumstances surrounding the death of South African footballer Jayden Adams. His body was discovered shortly after his return from the FIFA World Cup, leading the police to commence an official inquiry. The 25-year-old midfielder for the South African national team was found deceased in a residence located in the Scots Cliff area of Cape Town.

The South African Football Players Union confirmed his passing on Saturday, but no details about the cause of death have been revealed yet. Notably, Adams’s grandmother Mariana passed away just one day before South Africa’s 1–1 draw against the Czech Republic during the World Cup. Adams started in two of the three matches he played for South Africa, including the draw with the Czech Republic and the 2–0 loss to Mexico. He appeared as a substitute in the 1–0 win over South Korea. In the June 28 match against Canada, where South Africa was eliminated from the tournament, Adams remained on the bench throughout.
