Nepal U-19 Women’s Cricket Team Qualifies for Asia Cup After Reaching ACC U-19 Women’s Premier Cup Semifinals

The Nepal U-19 women’s cricket team secured their spot in the Asia Cup by advancing to the semifinals of the ACC U-19 Women’s Premier Cup. They achieved a comfortable victory over Japan in the quarterfinals, winning by 9 wickets. Nepal will now face the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the semifinals on Friday.

On 15 July, Kathmandu – The Nepal U-19 women’s cricket team defeated Japan by 9 wickets in the quarterfinals of the ACC U-19 Women’s Premier Cup to reach the semifinals, thereby confirming their qualification for the Asia Cup. Chasing a target of 87 runs set by Japan, Nepal reached the total in 11.2 overs with the loss of just one wicket. Sabitri Dhami remained unbeaten on 41 runs, while captain Soni Pakhrin and Sana Praveen both contributed 18 runs each.

Japan won the toss and elected to bat first, but managed only 86 runs in 20 overs after losing all their wickets. Captain Bianca Shino was not out on 38 runs, while Ayane Sakuraba and Kicho Suzuki both scored 10 runs each. For Nepal, Riya Sharma and Krishma Gurung took two wickets apiece, while Anu Kadayat, Manisha Upadhyay, and Soni Pakhrin claimed one wicket each. Nepal will now face the UAE in the semifinal match, scheduled for the day after tomorrow, Friday.
