US Ready for Talks with Iran; Iran Accused of Lacking Seriousness

June 20, Kathmandu — US Secretary of State Mark Rubio has expressed willingness to engage in talks and reach an understanding to resolve the crisis with Iran. However, he also stated that Iran has not appeared serious about the matter. According to BBC Persian, during a meeting of foreign ministers from Southeast Asian countries, Rubio shared his views on the tension between the US and Iran. “The US remains ready for talks to end the crisis with Iran, but Iran is not motivated to negotiate,” Rubio said.

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian official informed Reuters news agency on Monday that Iran has received a proposal for a 10-day ceasefire from mediators. Recently, Iran’s Interior Minister visited Pakistan, where he met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir.
