Messi, Mbappé, Haaland, and Bozhinha Included in FIFA World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament

FIFA has announced the Team of the Tournament for the 2026 World Cup, featuring players from six different nations. The lineup follows a 4–3–3 formation. The champions Spain and France each had three players selected, while the runners-up Argentina contributed two players. England, Norway, and Cape Verde are each represented by one player in the squad.

Kathmandu, July 23 – Spain’s captain Rodri leads their contingent, joined by defenders Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella. Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi and defender Lisandro Martinez have been included from the runner-up team. France’s trio consists of captain Kylian Mbappé, Michael Olise, and Dayot Upamecano. England’s sole representative is Jude Bellingham.

Norway’s striker Erling Haaland, who helped his team reach the quarterfinals for the first time, is also part of the team. Additionally, goalkeeper Bozhinha from Cape Verde, playing in his first World Cup, has been selected. The 40-year-old Bozhinha delivered an outstanding performance in the opening match by keeping Spain scoreless and also performed well against Argentina in the round of 32.
