Senior Nepali Congress Leader Gopalman Shrestha Passes Away

Senior Nepali Congress leader Gopalman Shrestha has passed away at the age of 83 while undergoing treatment. He was receiving treatment at Helias Hospital in Jawalakhel, and his death was confirmed on Tuesday. Former minister Mekhlal Shrestha shared this information.

Gopalman Shrestha’s mortal remains will be kept at the party office on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM for paying respects, followed by cremation at Pashupati Aryaghat. Former minister Mekhlal wrote on Facebook, “Afterward, the body will be taken in a procession to Pashupati Aryaghat for the cremation.” On July 22, Congress President Gagan Thapa had announced the appointment of Shrestha as the party’s senior leader.
