Two Arrested with Unexplained Cash Amounting to NPR 2.42 Million

The police have apprehended two individuals from different locations in Kathmandu with an unexplained cash amount of NPR 2.42 million. Ishwar Thapa from Syangja and Sudarshan Khadka from Kathmandu were taken into custody under suspicious circumstances. Alongside the cash, motorcycles and scooters have also been seized as investigations are underway.

The detainees include 41-year-old Ishwar Thapa, a resident of Waling Municipality-6 in Syangja, and 42-year-old Sudarshan Khadka of Kapan, Kathmandu. Authorities recovered NPR 1.994 million from Thapa and NPR 408,000 from Khadka, totaling NPR 2.42 million, according to the police.

A police team from Darbarmarg, Kathmandu, stopped and inspected a scooter bearing the registration number Ba.Pra 02-042 Pa 5207 that was heading toward Kesharmahal late Sunday night. During the search, the substantial cash was found on Thapa. Similarly, police from Maligaun arrested Khadka near the Ganesh Temple in Kamaladi, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-28, also the same night, recovering the cash. The police also seized a motorcycle with registration Bagmati AAA 7720, used by Khadka. The authorities are conducting further investigations regarding the case.
