Hark Sampang Questions Prime Minister’s Purpose Behind Mustang Visit
Hark Raj Rai has stated that the Prime Minister holds no private life and should therefore respond in the House of Representatives regarding the visit to Mustang. He raised concerns about land erosion in Sunsari due to the Koshi embankment breach and questioned who holds the key to opening 56 sluice gates. Sampang also drew the government’s attention to issues such as the removal of a two-day holiday in the health sector, problems related to casinos in Jhapa and Birtamod, and the gas shortage.
Kathmandu, 8 Bhadau — Labor Culture Party Chairman Hark Raj Rai (Hark Sampang) asserted that the office of the Prime Minister does not have a private life. “There have been talks about the Prime Minister’s personal visit to Mustang. The Prime Minister’s position carries no private life. This should be kept in mind,” Sampang said during the House of Representatives session.
He noted that the Prime Minister does not travel alone and that government security agencies are automatically mobilized. “If he has gone on a personal trip without informing the Cabinet or Parliament, what exactly did he go to eat? If there was no wind in Kathmandu, there would have been wind in Mustang. Perhaps it isn’t hot there now either. What did he go there to taste? He must clarify and answer these questions in the assembly,” Sampang demanded.
Highlighting the country’s crisis, he mentioned that the Koshi embankment breach had resulted in the erosion of hundreds of hectares of arable land in Sunsari. He questioned who holds the key to open 56 sluice gates and emphasized that the government must be capable of protecting its land. Furthermore, he demanded the removal of the two-day holiday in the health sector. He brought to government attention the severe impact of casinos in Jhapa and Birtamod on citizens’ homes and underscored the lack of progress in resolving the gas shortage. He also requested the government to clarify whether there is a plan to purchase induction cookers.
