Suvarna Shah Clinches Both Men’s Singles and Doubles Titles at Pickleball Tournament

On the occasion of Hardik Fitness’s 29th anniversary, the open pickleball tournament held at Pulchowk saw Suvarna Shah triumph in both the men’s singles and doubles categories. In the men’s singles final, Suvarna defeated Pranav Khanal with a commanding 11–4, 11–1 point margin. In doubles, the duo of Suvarna and Sameer Pokharel secured the title. The tournament featured 36 players competing in men’s singles and 46 teams participating in the doubles event, with cash prizes and memberships awarded to the top three players and teams.

On September 1st, in Kathmandu, Suvarna Shah overpowered Pranav Khanal in the open pickleball finals organized for the first time by Hardik Fitness, winning comfortably with set scores of 11–4 and 11–1. In the men’s doubles final, Suvarna and Sameer Pokharel defeated their opponents by 11–5 and 11–2. The bronze medal match in men’s singles saw Ayush Shrestha prevail over Manoj Kumar in a three-set battle, 11–3, 5–11, 11–8.

Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles bronze medal match, the pair of Krishna Agrawal and Manoj Kumar triumphed over Rohit Chamling and Bedkumar Tamang with scorelines of 10–12, 11–7, 11–7. Cash prizes of 30,000, 15,000, and 5,000 Nepalese Rupees were awarded to the top three players in each category respectively. Additionally, all winners received gift hampers and complimentary memberships from Hardik Fitness. Introduced recently in Nepal, pickleball attracted 36 individual participants in men’s singles and 46 teams in the men’s doubles competition.
