Iraqi and Saudi Foreign Ministers Hold Telephone Talk Amid Drone Attack

September 13, Kathmandu – Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held a telephone conversation on Saturday morning. The discussion followed a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline originating from Iraqi territory. The two foreign ministers engaged in this emergency dialogue in response to the incident.

According to an official statement from the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous contact and coordination between Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Although the attack occurred from Iraqi land, Saudi Arabia expressed full support for Iraq and clarified that it will not take any retaliatory measures against Iraq. The Iraqi government also committed to conducting an impartial investigation into the attack.
