ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai States FIFA Officially Recognizes Pankaj Vikram Nembang’s Committee
The leadership of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) claims that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has officially recognized their committee. At a press conference held by ANFA on Thursday, General Secretary Kiran Rai stated, “FIFA recognizes the committee led by Pankaj Vikram Nembang as official. Accordingly, we are suspended but not dismissed. Dialogue is possible.” Rai also mentioned that salaries for players and staff have been withheld due to government directives and called for clear instructions from the government.
Rai described Wednesday’s discussions with the government and Chairman Nembang as unproductive, saying, “Either the government should provide clear directions and tell us not to proceed further. There needs to be a definitive resolution on who will take responsibility for the players’ families.” He emphasized the need for the government to provide explicit guidance regarding these issues.
The General Secretary added, “Staff members also need to be given clear information. Otherwise, the problems that have arisen must be resolved in order to move forward.” He further noted that should talks with the government take place, a tripartite meeting including FIFA could be proposed.
