
Bangladeshi Young Batter Ariful Islam to Participate in Nepal Premier League
Twenty-one-year-old Bangladeshi young batter Ariful Islam is set to come to Nepal to participate in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League. While there has been no official announcement regarding which franchise he will represent, social media buzz suggests he is likely to play for the Karnali Yaks.
For the Nepal Premier League, Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh has already been signed by Pokhara Avengers. Additionally, international stars such as David Warner, Charith Asalanka, and Sikandar Raja have confirmed their participation in Nepal. According to the Bangladeshi media outlet T-Sports, 21-year-old Ariful’s involvement in the NPL is confirmed, although the franchise he will join has yet to be officially declared.
Social media discussions broadly connect Ariful with the Karnali Yaks franchise, which had previously secured the signature of Akbar Ali, the captain of Bangladesh’s Under-19 World Cup-winning team. The right-handed batter Ariful has yet to make his debut for Bangladesh’s senior national team. In Twenty20 cricket, he has played 17 matches and scored 427 runs. For the third edition of the NPL, Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh is contracted with Pokhara Avengers. Other international stars such as Australia’s David Warner, Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka, and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raja have also confirmed their participation in Nepal.
