
Novak Djokovic Advances to Final at China Open Tennis Tournament
October 6, Kathmandu – Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has secured a spot in the final of the China Open tennis tournament. On Monday, in the semifinal match, he defeated Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in straight sets 2-0, moving closer to claiming the title at the age of 39. Djokovic won the first set 7-5. In the second set, while serving at 5-3 and a score of 15-15, Medvedev accidentally hit an out ball that struck a spectator’s eye, leading to his disqualification. Consequently, Djokovic advanced to the final.
In the final, Djokovic is set to compete against Australia’s Alex de Minaur. This tournament is part of the ATP Masters 500 series. Djokovic has won this event six times previously, with his last victory coming in 2015 when he defeated Rafael Nadal to claim the title.
