US Affirms Saudi Arabia’s Full Right to Self-Defense Against Houthi Attacks
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Saudi Arabia has the full right to self-defense against attacks from Houthi rebels. Speaking to journalists at the Andrews Joint Military Base in Maryland, Rubio expressed his views on the matter. “It is clear that the Saudis have been targeted by Houthi attacks, and they have the right to protect themselves,” Rubio said.
Rubio further clarified that neither Saudi Arabia nor the internationally recognized Yemeni government supports Houthi control in the region. He emphasized that the United States maintains a committed security agreement with Saudi Arabia and is dedicated to fulfilling its obligations under that accord.
