22 Ashoj, Kathmandu — Eleven members of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Executive Committee, including the Senior Vice President, have called for an urgent meeting of the committee. According to Article 31(2) of ANFA’s statutes, if one-third or more members of the executive committee submit a written request, a meeting must be convened without fail. Following this provision, 11 members of the committee have formally requested the meeting.
The agenda for the meeting includes discussing ANFA’s current situation, initiatives and coordination with the government for the development of Nepali football, ANFA’s electoral process, and a condolence motion regarding the passing of ANFA member Dilip Dhimal.
The petition is signed by Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, Vice Presidents Birat Jung Shahi, Deepak Khatiwada, and Dirgh Bahadur KC. Other signatories include members Mahendra Kshetri, Manip Joshi, Pema Dolma Lama, Ravindra Chand, Rupesh Adhikari, Tikaram Lama, and Bharat Bahadur Budhathapa.
Due to allegations of third-party interference, the International Football Federation (FIFA) suspended ANFA from June 24 onwards. The Nepal Police, through the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), has recommended filing cases against ANFA President Pankaj Vikram Nembang, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Treasurer Ravindra Joshi, and Accountant Sanjiv Pandey for match-fixing and fraud-related charges. Treasurer Joshi and Accountant Pandey are currently in custody, while Nembang and Rai remain at large.
