United States Postpones Military Strike Against Iran

CBS News, referring to two regional sources, reported that the US postponed the strike to ensure no disruption to negotiations, as an Omani delegation prepares to travel to Tehran to discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, The New York Times mentioned that senior US advisors recommended to President Trump to suspend plans to expand military action due to the dwindling stock of interceptor missiles used in air defense systems.

The New York Times also reported that General Dan Coats, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, warned that further escalation could exhaust the interceptor missile inventory held by the US Central Command.
