Kathmandu – A tragic road accident near Rayavaram in Markapuram district, Andhra Pradesh, India, has claimed the lives of 14 people.

The collision occurred on Thursday morning near a local tile factory, where a private bus and a truck collided, leading to both vehicles catching fire.

According to Harshavardhan Raju, DSP of Markapuram, all 14 fatalities were passengers aboard the bus.

Reports indicate that numerous other passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Both the bus and truck were severely damaged and burnt in the crash.

Expressing his condolences, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial assistance of ₹200,000 to each bereaved family and ₹50,000 to those injured in the incident.
