
Karan KC Achieves Milestone of 100 Wickets in ODI Cricket
During the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match against Namibia in the Netherlands, Nepal’s fast bowler Karan KC reached a significant milestone by taking his 100th wicket in One Day International (ODI) cricket after claiming 2 wickets in the game. He accomplished this feat in 72 ODIs, accumulating a total of 103 wickets. With this achievement, Karan became the second Nepali player to take 100 wickets in ODI cricket, following leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane who had previously reached this benchmark.
In the match against Namibia, Karan delivered an outstanding performance by taking 5 wickets, conceding only 29 runs in 10 overs with 2 maiden overs. This match highlighted his consistent ability as he has set a record for Nepal by taking five wickets in an ODI match on four separate occasions.
Having lost the toss and batted first, Namibia posted 211 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Notably, Frylinck scored a century for Namibia. Meanwhile, Nepal’s Sompal Kami took 1 wicket in this game, bringing his ODI career tally to 99 wickets, just one wicket shy of reaching the 100-wicket milestone.
