Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen Joins Ajax on Season-Long Loan

Dutch club Ajax has secured the services of 34-year-old German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen on a season-long loan. Ter Stegen, who arrives from Spanish club Barcelona, will remain at Ajax until June 30, 2027. Barcelona announced the details of the agreement.

Ter Stegen has played 423 matches for Barcelona, winning 21 trophies during his tenure. Notably, he was part of the squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2015 while at Barcelona. Prior to this move, he spent a loan spell at Spanish club Girona, where injuries limited him to just two appearances.

Ter Stegen began his professional career at German club Borussia Mönchengladbach before signing with Barcelona in 2014. He has also earned 44 caps with the German national team.
