Savin Tamang and Rohit Kshetri Advance to Finals of Top 16 Grand Masters Snooker Championship

Savin Tamang and Rohit Kshetri have advanced to the finals of the inaugural Kathmandu Sports Council Nepal Top 16 Grand Masters Snooker Championship. Savin Tamang defeated Nepal’s top-ranked player, Wangchu Tamang, 5–4 in a close semifinal match, moving closer to the championship title. In the other semifinal, Rohit Kshetri secured a 5–2 victory over Rajan Gurung, setting up a final clash against Savin on Saturday. July 5, Kathmandu.

Both Savin Tamang and Rohit Kshetri have secured their spots in the finals of the Kathmandu Sports Council (NRT) Nepal Top 16 Grand Masters Snooker Championship. Nepal’s number one player, Wangchu Tamang, was knocked out in the semifinals and did not advance to the final. The tournament, organized by the Kathmandu Sports Council (NRT), took place at their club premises in Tripureshwor. In the best-of-nine semifinals held on Thursday, Savin Tamang narrowly defeated Wangchu Tamang in a decisive 5–4 set. Savin will now face Rohit Kshetri in the championship final scheduled for Saturday.

In the first semifinal on Thursday, Rohit Kshetri won against Rajan Gurung with a 5–2 score, earning his place in the final. The tournament winner will receive NPR 111,111 along with the champion’s trophy, while the runner-up will be awarded NPR 51,000 and a trophy. Both semifinalists will be awarded NPR 25,000 each along with trophies. Additionally, a special prize of NPR 25,000 will be given for making a century break, and for the highest break scoring over 80 points, a prize of NPR 20,000 along with a trophy will be awarded by the organizers.
