Three Dead and One Missing in Landslide at Sunchahari, Rolpa

A landslide in Sunchahari Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 of Rolpa district has claimed the lives of three individuals. The deceased have been identified as 77-year-old Virbahadur Ghartimagar, 68-year-old Shani Ghartimagar, and 70-year-old Lali Ghartimagar. Additionally, 60-year-old Lade Ghartimagar went missing after her house was buried in the same landslide, and search operations are ongoing. (29th Saun, Rolpa)

Virbahadur Ghartimagar’s house located in Phalbang of Sunchahari Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 was buried by the landslide. According to Police Inspector Krishna Shrestha from the Rolpa District Police Office, it has been confirmed that Virbahadur Ghartimagar, Shani Ghartimagar, and Lali Ghartimagar all lost their lives in the incident. Authorities have confirmed the fatalities.

Similarly, in Gitthe Tole of the same ward, around 60-year-old Lade Ghartimagar’s home was also buried by the landslide, and she remains missing. Ward Chairperson Krishna Bahadur Budha stated that search efforts are continuing persistently. Police and local residents are actively involved in the rescue and search operations.
