57 Families in Dhanusha Receive Land Ownership Certificates a Decade After Survey Completion
2 Bhadra, Kathmandu – The Land Survey Office of Dhanusha has distributed land ownership certificates to 57 families in Ward No. 11 of Sabaila Municipality, Dhanusha, nearly ten years after the land surveys were conducted. The land survey for Village Block 9 (Swabasi), covering former Makhana Village Development Committee Wards 6, 7, 8, and 9, was completed in the fiscal year 2072/73 (2015/16).
Despite the survey being completed, the certificate distribution process was delayed for a long time due to insufficient public participation. Now, after fulfilling the necessary procedures for surveyed lands that had previously undergone cadastral mapping, 57 land ownership certificates have been issued. With receipt of these certificates, the families who have been residing as indigenous occupants on these lands have formally secured their legal ownership.
