Nisarg Hospital Donates NPR 1,111,111 to Bhotekoshi Flood Victims, Cancels This Year’s Teej Celebration

Nisarg Hospital, located in Dhangadhi, has contributed NPR 1,111,111 towards relief and rehabilitation efforts for victims of the Bhotekoshi flood. The hospital decided to forgo its annual Teej festival this year and allocated the funds reserved for the event to support flood-affected communities. The collected amount was deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund via Global IME Bank, the hospital confirmed.

With severe damage to life and property caused by the flood, many families are suffering significant losses. In response, Nisarg Hospital in Kailali’s Dhangadhi took the decision to cancel its yearly Teej program and dedicate the budget intended for the celebrations to aid flood relief and recovery.

Hospital Chairperson Teerth Raj Pant revealed that staff members including employees, nurses, doctors, and shareholders opted to contribute at least one day’s salary or equivalent benefits. Combined with the budget reallocated from the Teej event, a total of NPR 1,111,111 was raised to assist the flood victims in Bhotekoshi.

Nisarg Hospital has traditionally hosted Teej celebrations annually for its female employees and medical professionals. However, due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi that caused widespread loss of life and property, the hospital chose to cancel the 2024 Teej event and redirect the reserved funds towards relief and rehabilitation efforts. The collected sum has been deposited to the official government bank account number 880040101000005788 at Global IME Bank under the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, the hospital stated.

Chairperson Pant emphasized, “While our contribution cannot fully compensate for all the losses caused by the floods, it sends a message to affected families that we stand with them in their time of need.” He added that postponing festival celebrations temporarily to support families in distress is an important social responsibility. Nisarg Hospital continues to engage in various humanitarian and social support programs as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts.
