Mongolian Opposite Hitter Enkh Erden Signed by Annapurna Spiker Kings for Nepal Volleyball League
September 14, Kathmandu – Annapurna Spiker Kings have signed Enkh Erden Jargalsot (EDI), an opposite hitter from the Mongolian national volleyball team, for the inaugural season of the Nepal Volleyball League (NVL). Annapurna Spiker Kings are excited to have secured the Mongolian star for Nepal’s first-ever men’s franchise volleyball league. Enkh Erden is the second Mongolian player to be signed by Annapurna, who had previously acquired star outside hitter Uranbayar Munkhbayar from the Mongolian national team.
The 26-year-old opposite hitter is a member of Mongolia’s national team and brings extensive experience playing at the club level not only in Mongolia but also in South Korea and Iraq. Recently, he played a crucial role in helping Mongolia secure a bronze medal at the Asian Eastern Zonal Men’s Volleyball Championship, held on their home court. Standing at 6 feet 6 inches, Enkh Erden is expected to further strengthen and balance the offensive line of Annapurna Spiker Kings. He played for Mongolia’s Minjit Bulgan in 2022 and SG Hawks in 2024, winning bronze medals in the Mongolia Premier League both times.
Enkh Erden has also competed for South Korea’s Daejeon Samsung Bluefangs and Suwon Kepco Vixtorm, as well as Iraq’s Masafi Al-Semal club.
By signing two Mongolian players for the NVL, Annapurna Spiker Kings have built a well-balanced team. The announcement of a third foreign player is expected soon. Representing Gandaki Province, the team’s roster includes middle blocker Himal Sunari Marky, a native of Gandaki.
The team’s head coach is Ramesh KC from Gandaki Province, with former Nepal men’s national team player and ex-Tribhuvan Army Club athlete Narendra Giri serving as assistant coach. Rajendra Dhami, who recently made his debut in the national team through the Kavre Men’s Volleyball Championship, is also part of the squad. Other notable players include renowned Gandaki athletes Ravi KC, Bishwas Adhikari, Bibash Ale, and Surendra KC. Additionally, liberos Jit Bahadur Sharki and Dev Rana, both alumni of the age-group national teams, reinforce the lineup.
Committed to nurturing young talent, Annapurna Spiker Kings selected Kiran Bhandari through a talent hunt, which each team is required to conduct. The team held this event in Pokhara, resulting in Kiran’s selection.
With a mix of domestic and international players and a strong coaching staff, Annapurna Spiker Kings aim to achieve top results in the inaugural Nepal Volleyball League. The NVL will commence on September 19 at the covered hall inside the Dashrath Rangashala in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.
