In the match held on Saturday at the Dashrath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, Times defeated Playbox Arena by 76-54 points. Times led 20-18 in the first quarter and 20-10 in the second quarter, holding a 40-28 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, Times led 20-13 and then 16-13 in the final quarter to cement their victory. With this ninth straight win, Times reached the top position with 19 points from 10 games. Following their ninth loss, Playbox now has 11 points from 10 matches.

Manish KC of Times was declared Man of the Match, scoring a game-high 19 points. Similarly, in the match held Friday night, Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Playbox Arena 103-74. Simon Gurung scored the highest 35 points for the Army. With their eighth win in nine games, the Army sits second with 17 points. Gurung was named Man of the Match. The second edition of HJNBL, organized by the Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA), features eight competing teams.

This league follows a double round-robin format with a total of 56 matches. After the league phase, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. Within the playoffs, the first qualifier will be between the teams finishing first and second in the league, while the eliminator match will be between the third and fourth place teams. The loser of the first qualifier and the winner of the eliminator will face off in the second qualifier. The winners of the first and second qualifiers will compete in the final match. The champion will receive a cash prize of NPR 400,000, the runner-up NPR 200,000, and the third-place team NPR 100,000. NEBA has also announced that the player with the best performance throughout the tournament will be named Most Valuable Player (MVP) and will be awarded an attractive prize.
