Chairperson of Chapakot Ward Attacked with Machete

September 1, Syangja – On Monday, Bhupraj Osti, the chairperson of Ward No. 1 in Chapakot Municipality, Syangja district, was attacked with a machete. A group of youths, accusing the chairperson of repeatedly agreeing but failing to implement public hearings in the ward, carried out the assault.

Superintendent of Police Ranjit Singh Rathore from the Syangja District Police Office and Chief District Officer Nirajan Ghimire stated that anyone who behaves in such a way toward civil servants and elected representatives will face legal action in accordance with the law.

Chief District Officer Ghimire further explained that coordination is ongoing with relevant authorities to detain those involved in the incident, and once the perpetrators are identified, they will be prosecuted legally.
