The Nepal Vegetable Ghee Producers Association Donates Over One Crore Rupees for Flood Relief

The Nepal Vegetable Ghee Producers Association has decided to contribute Rs 1 crore 1 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to aid flood and landslide victims. The association reported significant human and material losses caused by the floods on September 10 in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, and East Nawalparasi districts. It has urged the government and relevant agencies to promptly provide immediate relief to affected families, medical treatment for the injured, and other necessary assistance.

On Wednesday, the association expressed deep sorrow over the human and material damages caused by the floods and landslides, and resolved to make the contribution. The severe flooding originated from the Sijiang (Tibet) area of China on the morning of September 10, causing extensive losses in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, and East Nawalparasi. The association highlighted that many lives were lost, numerous people remain missing, others were injured, and both public and private properties suffered irreparable damage.

The association stated, “In such sensitive times, embracing national unity, social cooperation, and humanitarian values, and recognizing our responsibility towards the citizens, society, and the nation, the association and its member industries have unanimously decided to contribute Rs 1 crore 1 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.” Furthermore, it has reiterated the need for the government and related bodies to rapidly provide immediate relief to affected families and medical care to the injured.

Reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility, the association pledged to continue participating in such supportive initiatives in the future. It believes that only through the sensitivity and cooperation of all stakeholders can momentum be generated toward the reconstruction of the affected areas.
