Karnali Defeats Kathmandu to Reach NVL Final

Karnali Shivraj has secured a spot in the final of the first Nepal Volleyball League (NVL) by defeating Kathmandu Reds 3-1 in sets. The playoff match took place at the Dashrath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, where Karnali won the first, third, and fourth sets. On Saturday at 4 PM, Karnali will compete against Annapurna Spiker Kings for the championship title.

26 Bhadra, Kathmandu – Karnali earned its place in the inaugural NVL final by overcoming Kathmandu Reds. In the playoff held on Friday at the Dashrath Rangashala Covered Hall, Karnali triumphed over Kathmandu with a 3-1 set victory.

Karnali took the lead by winning the first set 25-21. Kathmandu responded by claiming the second set 25-20, leveling the match. The third set was narrowly won by Karnali 25-23, followed by a 25-22 victory in the fourth set, securing the overall win. This victory also avenged a previous loss to Kathmandu during the league phase.

Karnali will now face Annapurna Spiker Kings in the final. Annapurna earned a direct entry by topping the league standings. The final is scheduled for Saturday at 4 PM. Organized by the Kedia Group, the inaugural NVL featured six franchise teams. The champion will receive a cash prize of 2 million Nepali Rupees.
