Iranian Foreign Minister Holds Group Meeting with Foreign Ministers of Five Countries in Delhi

September 13, Kathmandu – On the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, foreign ministers from Iran, Russia, China, Egypt, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan convened a group meeting. The session, held on Monday, focused on regional and global issues as well as various topics of mutual interest.

Participating countries emphasized the importance of promoting international cooperation, strengthening multilateral diplomacy, and undertaking joint efforts to address regional and global challenges. It is widely recognized that Iran and Russia share close ties, collaborating on issues related to Syria, regional security, and energy. China remains a key economic partner for Iran, importing oil and investing in various infrastructure projects within Iran.

Despite historically limited relations between Iran and Egypt, recent years have shown efforts by both nations to improve ties. Indonesia and Iran generally maintain positive relations, with Indonesia typically adopting a balanced approach to Middle Eastern politics. The relationship between Iran and Kazakhstan is primarily centered on trade, transportation, and regional connectivity, with projects such as the International North-South Transport Corridor holding significant importance for both countries.
