Nepal Defeated by Indonesia in Straight Sets at 20th Asian Games 2026

With only three teams in the group, Nepal’s consecutive defeats have allowed Japan and Indonesia to advance to the quarterfinals with one game remaining. The match between Japan and Indonesia will determine the group winner. Having lost both group matches, Nepal is out of contention for the quarterfinals and will now participate in classification matches to determine rankings from ninth to fourteenth place. After the conclusion of other groups, Nepal’s next opponents will be decided. Fourteen of Asia’s top women’s volleyball teams are competing in the 20th Asian Games. Although the official opening ceremony took place on 19 September, competitions in basketball, football, volleyball, and modern pentathlon began earlier.
