Afghanistan Sets Nepal a Target of 103 Runs in Asian Games Cricket

In the ongoing 20th Asian Games men’s cricket tournament in Japan, Afghanistan has set Nepal a target of 103 runs. Batting first at Korogi Sports Park, Afghanistan scored 102 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Fazel Shinwjada was the top scorer for Afghanistan, making 33 runs, followed by Najibullah Zadran with 30 and Nangalia Kharote with 17 runs. For Nepal, Kushal Bhurtel took 4 wickets while Lalit Rajbanshi claimed 3 wickets.

Nepal is placed in Group A alongside Afghanistan and Japan. In the opening match on Thursday, Afghanistan defeated Japan. The top two teams from the group will advance to the quarterfinals. Upon reaching the quarterfinals, Nepal will face either India or Sri Lanka. In the previous Asian Games, Nepal was also knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing to India.
