Precautions to Take When Entering Homes Damaged by Floods

This article provides guidance on what to do and what to avoid when entering homes submerged or damaged by floods. Flooding in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers has swept away hundreds of homes and caused damage to many others. Some houses located along the riverbanks remain buried in mud, while others show severe damage. Local residents are currently removing mud and undertaking repairs to restore their homes.

In this context, contact was made with Prakash Aryal, Deputy Director General of the Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resilience Division under the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, to learn about the necessary precautions before entering flood-damaged or submerged houses.
