
Cockroach Party Announces Nationwide Protest Demanding Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar
October 2, Kathmandu – Abhijeet Deep, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, has announced a nationwide protest starting from October 2, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He made this declaration during a press conference held in Mumbai on Thursday.
At the press conference, Deep stated, “Tomorrow in Mumbai, we will begin our protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.”
The protesters have called for filing criminal charges against Gyanesh Kumar. They accused the current election process of raising numerous concerns. Deep emphasized that to resolve these issues, the Chief Election Commissioner must step down. It was made clear that the protests will continue until Gyanesh Kumar resigns.
Deep further added, “Our demands include an immediate halt to the SIR process, conducting elections based on the 2025 voter list, and selecting the new Chief Election Commissioner through an independent body.”
Political debates are ongoing regarding the Election Commission and the comprehensive revision of the voter list. This protest is scheduled amidst these discussions in Mumbai.
