48 Ticket Counter Employees Arrested for Harassing Passengers in Kathmandu

March 31, Kathmandu – A total of 48 ticket counter employees who were harassing passengers at various counters in Kathmandu have been arrested on the same day.

The Kathmandu District Police Office conducted an operation on Wednesday, apprehending these individuals from Balkhu, Kalanki, and New Bus Park areas of Kathmandu, according to official statements.

Police received information that these ticket counter staff were coercing passengers traveling outside the valley to use only the vehicles they specified, subjecting them to harassment and abusive behavior.

Based on this intelligence, the police detained 19 people from Balkhu, 24 from Kalanki, and 5 from New Bus Park, authorities reported.

Further investigation is underway, said SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, the Information Officer of the Kathmandu District Police Office.
