Woman Dies After Falling from Cliff in Baglung

Resham Kumari Shahi, a 57-year-old resident of Nisikholaa Rural Municipality-4 in Baglung, tragically died after falling from a cliff. According to police reports, Shahi fell while returning home in the evening after work on Monday, and her body was found in a canal the following morning. (24 Chaitra, Dhorpatan, Baglung)

In Baglung, a woman lost her life following a fall from a cliff. The deceased, Resham Kumari Shahi, aged 57 from Nisikholaa Rural Municipality-4, reportedly slipped during her return home after work on Monday evening. Police Inspector Dambar Bohara of the Galikot Area Police Office provided the information that her body was discovered this morning.

It is suspected that Shahi fell from the cliff as she did not return home on time after work. Relatives began searching for her late at night, ultimately finding her body at 9:00 AM in the canal near the Nisikholaa Second Micro Hydropower Project. Inspector Bohara explained that she likely lost her footing on the difficult path and fell into the canal.

“It appears she slipped and fell from the cliff near the canal at dusk. Items such as a sickle and spade were found stuck on the cliff,” he said. Preparations are underway to transfer Shahi’s body to Burtibang Provincial Hospital for an autopsy. She fell approximately 50 meters into the canal below.
