
Nepal Police Club Secures Fifth Consecutive Victory in NVBA Men’s Volleyball League
Nepal Police Club has recorded its fifth consecutive win in the Red Bull 10th PM Cup NVBA Men’s Volleyball League. The Police defeated the Army 3-1 in the departmental derby held at Dashrath Rangashala in Tripureshwor. The NVBA league features 8 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams, with the top two from each category advancing to the finals.
Kathmandu, 14 Baisakh — On the sixth day of the Red Bull 10th PM Cup NVBA Women’s and Men’s Volleyball League 2083, Nepal Police Club secured its fifth straight victory in the men’s division. The departmental derby at the covered hall of Dashrath Rangashala in Tripureshwor saw Police defeat Army 3-1 in sets. Remaining unbeaten with five consecutive wins, Police holds the top position with 15 points. This was the Army’s first loss in four matches. After four games, Army stands fourth with 8 points.
Police took the lead by winning the first set 25-22. The Army bounced back assertively to claim the second set with a wide margin of 25-15, leveling the match. The third set was highly competitive, with Police clinching a tight tiebreaker 26-24 to move ahead 2-1 in the match. In the fourth set, the Army initially led, but Police rallied strongly to win the set comfortably 25-18 and secure the match victory.
In other men’s matches played on Tuesday, Help Nepal Sports Club and Khiljee Youth Club both recorded wins. On Wednesday, the NVBA league will feature three men’s and two women’s matches. In the women’s category, Tribhuvan Army will face Nepal APF Club at 9 AM, followed by Nepal Police Club versus APF Club B at 11 AM. The men’s matches will begin with APF facing Budhanilkantha Volleyball Club at 1 PM, followed by Help Nepal Sports Club against Rukum Paschim at 3 PM, and the departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club versus Koshi Province will compete at 5 PM.
Organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association, the league features 8 men’s and 6 women’s teams. Spanning nine days, the event will hold a total of 45 matches across both categories. After a single round-robin league stage, the top two teams in men’s and women’s divisions will contest the finals. The champion teams will each be awarded a prize of NPR 1,000,000 equally.
