Minister Rawal Announces Formation of Expert Committee to Resolve Land Issues

April 25, Kathmandu — Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Pratibha Rawal, has stated that the government will address land-related problems through an expert committee. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives’ Agriculture, Cooperatives, and Natural Resources Committee on Friday, she noted that previous commissions tasked with resolving land issues failed to achieve results as they included political figures instead of experts.

The current government is committed to forming a committee comprised of experts to effectively resolve these issues. Minister Rawal emphasized that progress cannot be made without proper identification and management of unplanned settlements. She also criticized exaggerated complaints about the use of bulldozers, saying that only those involved in activities under the guise of victims should be concerned.

She further informed that the existing framework will be utilized to solve land problems, and a meeting of the Ministry of Land Management and Urban Development is scheduled for today to address this matter.
