New School Bags and Educational Supplies Provided to Students of Banadev School in Humla

The Social Development Office of Humla has provided various educational materials to 23 students of Banadev Basic School, located in Tajankot Rural Municipality-3. Following a news report, the school principal Khadak Bahadur Singh stated that students are no longer forced to carry books in sacks to school. The Social Development Office of Humla has supplied new educational materials to 23 students of Banadev Basic School in the remote Tajankot Rural Municipality-3. After a report titled “The Struggles of the Remote: Books and Notebooks in Sacks” was published on 13th Baisakh, the office provided students with school uniforms, bags, sweaters, tracksuits, shoes, and other essential educational supplies. Principal Khadak Bahadur Singh informed that the students are now free from the burden of carrying books and notebooks in sacks or makeshift bags to school.

According to Principal Singh, most students attending the school come from economically disadvantaged families. Due to a lack of adequate educational materials, the students faced difficulties in their regular studies. He added that the assistance received has significantly boosted the students’ enthusiasm. Local leader Jokhe Budha expressed satisfaction that the government agencies showed quick concern and provided support following the media’s highlighting of the issue.

He further stated that since small problems in remote districts directly affect children if not addressed promptly, such matters need continual exposure. The swift mobilization of aid following the media coverage of the hardships faced by children in remote areas illustrates the influential role of journalism and serves as an excellent example of social responsibility, local residents affirmed.
