Traffic Fines Generate NPR 2.039 Million Revenue in 24 Hours

May 16, Kathmandu – In the past 24 hours, approximately 2,200 drivers were penalized for traffic violations, resulting in revenue collection of NPR 2,039,000 for the government. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 168 drivers were punished for driving under the influence of alcohol, 155 for improper ride-sharing, 137 for signal light violations, and 152 for speeding.

Additionally, 102 drivers were penalized for lane discipline violations, 178 for honking in prohibited areas, 123 for parking on the roadside, 113 for driving against one-way traffic, and 1,072 others for various other traffic rule offenses.
