Sandeep Lamichhane Climbs Six Spots in ICC ODI Bowling Rankings

Spin bowler Sandeep Lamichhane of the Nepal national cricket team has risen to 36th position in the ICC ODI bowling rankings. He has taken 16 wickets in 7 matches during the League 2 series against Oman, the UAE, the USA, and Scotland. Sandeep has also set a record for reaching 150 ODI wickets in the fewest matches played.

June 20, Kathmandu – The ICC released updated rankings on Wednesday, incorporating data up to Tuesday, showing Sandeep advancing from 42nd to 36th place. His rating points have increased to 509. He has been delivering outstanding performances in the League 2 series, which started on home soil.

In the four matches against Oman and the UAE, Sandeep took 8 wickets while maintaining economical bowling figures. In the ongoing series against the USA and Scotland, he has already claimed 8 wickets. In the first match against Scotland, he took 4 wickets, followed by 1 wicket against the USA and 3 more against Scotland. During this period, he reached the milestone of 150 ODI wickets, becoming the fastest to do so in terms of matches played.

In bowling rankings, Lalit Rajbanshi improved by 16 places to reach 54th position, while Karan KC dropped 8 places to 98th.
