Hindustan Petroleum Denies Reports of Fuel and Gas Shortages

May 21, Kathmandu – Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), one of India’s major oil companies, has dismissed reports claiming fuel and gas shortages across the country. The company clarified that there are no supply issues at its retail outlets.

Despite reports suggesting that the ongoing crisis in Iran has led to a reduction in oil and gas supplies and that people in various regions are facing gas shortages, HPCL has refuted these claims. On the social media platform X, the company stated, “HPCL wishes to clarify that reports of fuel shortages and supply disruptions are misleading and do not reflect the actual situation.”

Providing additional details, the company explained, “Fuel supply at HPCL retail outlets remains completely normal with uninterrupted operations and regular replenishments.” The message further noted, “The increased customer presence and queues at some locations are primarily due to the seasonal rise in demand during the month of May.” It also added, “Moreover, many customers are preferring HPCL retail outlets because fuel prices at some private outlets are comparatively higher.”
