School Buildings Destroyed by Flood, Classes Shifted to Community Hall in Humla

Two buildings of Danphe Basic School, located in Chankheli Rural Municipality-5, Humla, were destroyed by a storm and flood on the night of May 18. Due to the damage, 80 students are now compelled to attend classes in the community hall. The school principal, Bali Tamang, reported that the flood also damaged seven computers, two laptops, and the school furniture.

May 23, Humla – At Danphe Basic School in Chankheli Rural Municipality-5, students have been forced to continue their education in the local community hall after two school buildings collapsed following severe flooding coupled with a storm on the night of May 18. More than 80 children are currently studying in the community hall as a result of the damage. Principal Bali Tamang confirmed that, in addition to structural losses, the flood inflicted damage to seven computers, two laptops, and various pieces of furniture at the school.
