Speaker Aryal: Discussions on Basic Needs Still Necessary Due to Past Governments’ Inaction
May 24, Kathmandu – Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal has stated that discussions and debates on basic necessities are still required due to the failure of previous governments to carry out essential tasks. Speaker Aryal made these remarks during an annual policy and program discussion organized by Nagarjun Municipality.
Addressing the event, Speaker Aryal emphasized the need to end the politicization of fundamental issues such as infrastructure development, particularly roads and drinking water. He noted that if previous governments had worked effectively in favor of the people, there would be no need for debates on basic needs, even within the capital city.
Expressing confidence that new government officials and representatives, empowered by a recent public mandate, will not repeat such negative tendencies, Speaker Aryal urged prioritizing people-centered development and good governance.
